个人简介
Mitsuru Izumi has been a Professor at the Department of Marine Resources and Energy, School of Marine Resources and Environment. His primary academic field is Physics and he has done his Ph.D. study in the Graduate School of the University of Tsukuba. Since joining the TUMSAT in 1986, Mitsuru Izumi has been involved with studies related to advanced materials and applied superconductivity engineering aimed at advanced electric ship propulsion motors, tidal marine, and propulsion motors and generators.
Prof. Izumi has been, in his experience, a foreign scientist of DR2 of CNRS, UCLA, visiting professors of Canon Foundation in Europe, Shanghai University, Shanghai University of Electric Power, Southwest Jiao Tong University, and other institutions. He is a plenary lecturer at the 2011 Centennial superconductivity conference in EUCAS, European Society of Applied Superconductivity. Since 2008 Prof. Izumi worked as a director of the Office of Liaison and Cooperative Research (OLCR). He is the former Executive Director of Research from 2008-2009, vice-President of Research and University-Community Relations from 2008-2009, and Vice-President of Industry-Academia Liaison and Public Relations from 2015-2018. In TUMSAT, he officially retired in 2021 March and is currently a Professor Emeritus of TUMSAT, his office is in OLCR, TUMSAT. Since 2021 April, he is working as a President of Toba College, National Institute of Technology, Japan.
