个人简介
Intan Tawakkal graduated with a BEng (Process and Food) and MSc in packaging engineering from Universiti Putra Malysia, UPM. She has completed a PhD at Victoria University, Melbourne Australia in the field of active food packaging and has now returned to UPM as a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering’s Department of Process and Food Engineering. Her research interests is in developing an environmental friendly packaging materials and/or systems for food packaging applications with an emphasis on the usage of bio-based materials such as biocomposites, biopolymers and biomass (lignocellulosic). Her research area also focusing on active and smart packaging materials which include the incorporation of natural active substances such as antimicrobial/antioxidant and pH indicator into plastic films and bio-composites for food packaging. Other area of interest in her research are retention and migration of active substances, food/package compatibility and interaction and biodegradation and compostability.
