Bio
Dr. Khan is a microbiome specialist. He is currently working as an assistant professor of Biotechnology at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Pakistan. He has also served as a senior lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Biotechnology Research Institute, University of Malaysia Sabah. His research is focused to understand gut microbial role in promoting human health and preventing diseases development. Currently, he is engaged to decipher microbial role in obesity, colorectal cancer, and food allergy development and prevention. Nonetheless, he is also evaluating various herbal compound (such as, polysaccharides, ginsenosides, flavonoids, and saponin) and traditional Chinese medicine for prebiotic and therapeutic properties at the interface of gut microbiota.
Dr. Khan has also evaluated host-microbes interaction in diseases like Kawasaki disease, arthritis, obesity, cancer, and bacterial infection.
