Research Intersts:
My specific research interests include introduction and evaluation of new specialty cuts including but not limited to native and exotic annuals, woody perennials, and bulbous species, field and greenhouse production and postharvest physiology & technology of cut flowers and cut foliage crops, development of sustainable growing substrates for nursery and potted plant production using local constituents, value addition of ornamentals, and use of plant growth regulators for pre and postharvest improvement of ornamentals. Moreover, I’m working on establishing germplasm units of important ornamentals for germplasm conservation and their evaluation under local conditions, screening of promising native and/or naturalized ornamentals for the selection of potential species to be used as specialty cuts, evaluation of various turfgrass species for recreational an sports turf selection, seed production of annual flowers, and developing pure inbred lines for breeding of ornamentals in future.
