Career Trajectory
Bio
I. V. Schweigert received the Ph.D. degree in physics and mathematics, in 1990. She is currently a Leading Scientist with the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of SB RAS, Novosibirsk, Russia, and a Research Scientist with the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, George Washington University, Washington, DC, USA. She is Creator and Principal Developer of 2-D3V Particle-in-cell Monte Carlo algorithm code and 1-D and 2-D combined fluid codes (PIC + fluid) for Discharge Plasma simulation. She has authored more than 90 scientific papers in major peer-reviewed journals (>70 first-author). Her current research interests include physics of gas discharge plasma, dusty plasma, plasma chemistry and nanoparticle formation, multidimentional simulations with kinetic effects.
