Hongyan Xi

My research interests include but are not limited to marine optics, hyper-/multi-spectral remote sensing of ocean color metrics and phytoplankton functional types (PFT). Current work focuses on consistent PFT products from multi-sensors for long term monitoring of phytoplankton composition, towards the goal of identifying possible changes on large or (sub)mesoscales, and aid in describing more accurately the past and current state of the “green” (biogeochemical) component of the ocean.
