Bio
Dr. Hongmei He (FHEA, SIEEE) is currently a professor in future robotics, engineering, and transport systems in the School of Science, Engineering and Environment at the University of Salford. Previously, she served for De Montfort University and Cranfield University. She had rich postdoctoral experience at different universities, such as the University of Kent (01/2012-10/2013), Ulster University of Ulster (04/2011-12/2011) and the University of Bristol (01/2007-03/2011). She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Loughborough University in 2006. Before coming to the UK, she was a senior embedded system engineer at the Motorola Design House, Shenzhen, China. Her current research focuses on Human-Centred AI for Trustworthy Robotics and Autonomous Systems. She is the chair of IEEE UK & Ireland RAS Chapter and the chair of the task force, "Artificial Intelligence and Edge Computing for Trustworthy Robots and Autonomous Systems", in the Adaptive Dynamic Programming and Reinforcement Learning Technic Committee (ADPRLTC) of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society.
