Holger Heine currently works at the Research Center Borstel - Leibniz Lung Center in the Priority Area Chronic Lung Diseases (CLD), and is the Head of the Research Group Innate Immunity. He does research in Immunology and Cell Biology, in particular working on the interplay of innate and adaptive immune responses in CLD. The current projects deal with different aspects of the human microbiome, e.g. the molecular mechanisms of allergy protection by microbes and immune reactions towards archaea.
