个人简介
My trajectory in scientific research as a biologist began in the Physiology department of the University of Granada, where I conducted a doctoral thesis focused on studying the mechanisms of action of melatonin as a neuroprotective agent in Parkinson's disease. During this period, I acquired knowledge and skills in experimental assay design, analytical techniques development, and optimal use of laboratory resources.
In 2002, I started working at the Scientific Instrumentation Center of the University of Granada, supervising multidisciplinary biological research activities in the Fundamental Biology service. Over the years, I have adapted the service to the requirements of biomedical and pharmacological research by implementing new analysis techniques and updating the instrumental support with innovative technologies for high-throughput screening "HTS."
Currently, the service has a revolutionary 3D bio-printer and new phenotypic screening mechanisms supported by confocal microscopy and Artificial Intelligence (in the process of installation). With this new acquisition, I aim to offer a comprehensive screening service in more realistic and reproducible three-dimensional cellular models to significantly accelerate translational research.
