Awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science for a thesis entitled "Geology and paleontology of Miocene Calcareous Sandstones in the northwestern part of the Noto Peninsula, central Japan". Work supervised by Professor Y. Kaseno.

Awarded the degree of Master of Science for a thesis entitled "Miocene decapod crustacean assemblages from southwest Japan". Work supervised by Professor J. Itoigawa.
1990–1992 Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, School of Science, Nagoya University
Awarded the degree of Doctor of Science for a thesis entitled "Cenozoic decapod crustacean fauna from southwest Japan". Work supervised by Professor J. Itoigawa.
1992–1992 Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Doctoral Fellow, working under Professor J. Itoigawa on "Cenozoic decapod Crustacea from southwest Japan".
1992–1994 Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Postdoctoral Fellow, working on crustacean paleontology.
1994–present Curator at the Mizunami Fossil Museum working on decapod paleontology, phylogeny and systematics.
