Bio
Heng Tao Shen (Fellow, IEEE) received the B.Sc. (First Class Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore, Singapore, in 2000 and 2004, respectively.
He is currently a Professor, the Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the Executive Dean of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, and the Director of the Center for Future Media, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers. His current research interests include multimedia search, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and big data management.
Prof. Shen received seven best paper awards from international conferences, including the Best Paper Award from ACM Multimedia 2017 and the Best Paper Award-Honorable Mention from ACM SIGIR 2017. He has served as a General Co-Chair for ACM Multimedia 2021 and the Program Committee Co-Chair for ACM Multimedia 2015, and is an Associate Editor of the ACM Transactions of Data Science, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, and IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering.
