Bio
Helena Gervasio has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Coimbra and she is integrated into the research center ISISE - Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering. She is Associate Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Coimbra and former director of the Research and Innovation Department of the design and construction company Coolhaven S.A.
She has been contributing to the Sustainability of the Construction sector since 2005. She is the president of the Portuguese Technical Committee CT171 (mirror group of CEN TC350 - "Sustainability of Construction Works"), expert member in CEN TC350/WG6 “Engineering civil works”, member of Technical Committee TC14 – “Sustainability and Eco-Efficiency of Steel construction” of the European Commission for Coal and Steel (ECCS) and a member of the iiSBE Organization – “International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment”.
