Bio
Hélder da Silva Lopes is Ph.D. in Geography and Regional Planning at the University of Minho and Ph.D. in Geography, Territorial Planning and Environmental Management at the University of Barcelona. Researcher at Landscape, Heritage and Territory Laboratory (Lab2PT) and at Group of Climatology of Water Research Institute (IdRA). He has carried out a doctoral research funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology in the last 4 years (with reference SFRH/BD/129153/2017). The latest investigations have focused on the assessment of outdoor thermal comfort by tourists through microclimatic measurements and questionnaire surveys and the design of adaptation and mitigation strategies in tourism areas to climate change through citizen participation techniques (namely, delphi techniques and workshops). His main research interests are Geogrpahic Information Systems; Remote Sensing; Urban Tourism; Environmental Management; Citizen Science and Climate Change.
