Bio
Dr. Md Mahmudul Hasan Khan was born on the 1st of August 1984 into a renowned Muslim family in the Barishal district, Bangladesh. He received his early primary education at BM School Barishal from 1990 to 1999. He got his Secondary Certificate from Government Sayed Hatem Ali collage, Barishal from 2000 to 2002. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture (2008) from Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), Patuakhali, Bangladesh with 6th position. In furtherance of his quest for knowledge, the author proceeded to the Sher -e- Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he got his master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Genetics and Plant Breeding in the year 2010 with 3rd position. Now he is working as a “scientific officer” in the plant breeding discipline at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) under the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), the People’s Republic of Bangladesh since April 2012. He completed short-term training courses on “Oil crops production technologies” implemented by Hunnan Agricultural Co-operation, organized, and financed by the Ministry of Commerce in 2015, China. He also worked as a visiting researcher (Molecular biology) at the John Innes Centre (JIC), Norwich, UK for two months in 2018. He completed his Ph.D. program in the field of Genetics and Plant Breeding in 2022 at the Laboratory of Climate-Smart Food Crop Production, Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia. He has been actively involved in academic and research work. He now serves as a section editor, guest editor, and editorial board member, an official peer reviewer of different high-impact factors as well as a renowned journal. He has published his research work in international reputable and high-impact factor journals.
Specialization/ Research interest
Conventional and molecular breeding in Oilseed (Brassica spp, Sunflower, Soybean, Sesame), Legume crops (Groundnut) and underutilized crops (namely; Bambara groundnut). Climate-smart crop production, Quantitative Genetics, Tissue culture, Genotype × Environment Interaction study, Stability analysis (Univariate and multivariate), Molecular markers, Molecular biology, Genome sequencing, and editing, Plant DNA extraction and analysis, Genotyping, Molecular genetic diversity, PCR analysis, Quantitative and molecular data management.
