Bio
Our goal is to understand how hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are produced during embryogenesis, and how their self-renewal ability and pluripotency are established through the careful arrangement of microenvironment clues and nuclear regulatory mechanisms. We used transgenic mouse models, mouse and human embryonic stem cells, and fetal HSCs to identify conserved regulatory pathways during mammalian development. We hope that our findings will promote the HSC based therapies available today and further clarify how to use the regulatory mechanism to control "dryness" in leukemogenesis.
