个人简介
Nathalia Hammes (NH) is involved until 26 September 2023 in the R&D project MicroCoolPav - Coaxial Microfibers Incorporated with Phase Change Materials for Road Pavements, EXPL/EQU-EQU/1110/2021, with a research fellowship, funded by FCT and composed of members of the Physics Centre and 2C2T of the University of Minho, whose main objective was the production of asphalt pavements with thermoregulatory properties, proposing an innovative method that sought to contribute to the basis of climate resilient urban infrastructures. NH started her undergraduate program in Materials Engineering in 2015 at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil. In her first year, she attended lectures, round tables and participated in a technical visit at the XVII CECEMM UFSCAR, which was the XVII Congress of Students of Materials Science and Engineering of MERCOSUR, at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCAR), Brazil. During this degree, she worked as a Scientific Initiation scholarship holder for two years under the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). During this period, she carried out the evaluation of the influence of a surface conditioning technique, whose data were compiled in the form of a scientific article published in the Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials (IF: 4.042). Through an invitation letter, between 2017 and 2018, NH carried out two internships in the laboratory of the Centre for Microelectromechanical Systems (CMEMS). During this period, she performed surface texturing and characterization with some patterns using laser technology, where she learned laboratory techniques, namely morphological and mechanical characterization methods, image analysis in Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and sample functionalization. Here, she co-authored an article published in the Journal Ceramics International (IF: 5.532). In 2019, NH transferred the course to the Integrated Master in Materials Engineering at the University of Minho. During this period, she participated in the V Jornada de Materiais Plus Competition, receiving an award as best student. In 2022, she completed her Master's degree, developing her thesis at the Digital Transformation CoLab (DTx), within the scope of the LEIMSA project (Lightweight Electronics by Injection Moulding in Seamless Architecture) with the funding entities COMPETE 2020, FEDER and National Innovation Agency. With this, she gained experience in screen printing, the application of functional inks on flexible/non-flexible materials and new environmentally friendly formulations for printed electronics. As a result of this master thesis, a scientific paper, as the first author, was published in the journal Flexible and Printed Electronics (IF: 3.768). In addition, using the results of her thesis, a poster and abstract were presented at the most important international printed electronics event, the International Exhibition and Conference for the Printed Electronics Industry - LOPEC, in Munich, Germany. In April 2023, NH participated as a member of the organizing committee of the 2nd International Symposium Pavement Functional Design and Management (PFDM 2023). In the six months that NH was involved in the MicroCoolPav R&D project, she presented and won the best poster award at the Doctoral Congress in Engineering (DCE 2023) in Porto, Portugal. In addition to the poster, NH gave an oral presentation at the 20th International Conference on Nanosciences & Nanotechnologies (NN23), Thessaloniki, Greece. Finally, NH was involved as co-author of 4 abstracts for different international conferences of great importance and impact and co-authored a review article accepted by the journal MDPI - Sensors (IF: 3.900).
