Bio
Dr. Sun Hongwei obtained his Ph.D. degree in Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center in 2018. He majored in tumor immunology with focus on MDSC biology, Tumor-immune Therapy & Cancer Metabolism. Tumor progression is the product of evolving cross-talk between different cell types within the tumor and its stroma. Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) constitute a major component of the immune suppressor cells in tumor stroma and act as the main accessories for cancer initiation and progression. Dr. Sun’s research is focused on the development and function of MDSCs in tumor microenvironments, and the immune therapy targeting tumors-infiltrating MDSCs.
