Bio
Hermann Schumacher (M’93) received the Dr.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany, in 1986.
He was with Bellcore, Red Bank, NJ, USA, from 1986 to 1990, and then he joined Ulm University, Ulm, Germany, as a Professor with the School of Engineering Science, where he is currently the Director of the Institute of Electron Devices and Circuits and the Director of the School of Advanced Professional Studies. His current research interests range from compound semiconductor devices for microwave and millimeter-wave applications to high-frequency microsystems, including highly integrated millimeter-wave communication and sensing solutions, and impulse radio ultra-wideband techniques for biomedical sensing.
