Dr. Hao Deng, M.D., Ph.D., is the Professor and Director of Center for Experimental Medicine of the Third Xiangya Hospital and Disease Genome Research Center, and Doctoral Supervisor of Central South University, China. His area of specialization focuses on molecular biology and diagnostics in human genetic disorders. He obtained his M.D. degree at Hunan Medical University, and received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, China. In 2006, he completed his postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine, USA. From 2006 to 2007, he worked as an Instructor at Baylor College of Medicine. In 2007, Dr. Deng returned to China and became a professor in Center for Experimental Medicine, the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, where he leads a research group investigating various genetic disorders. As a PI, his research has been funded by many national and international grants and foundations. He is a lead guest editor for several journals and a reviewer of more than 40 international journals. He published over 200 papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
