From April 2003 to June 2004, he spent one year as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN, USA, working on a cellular nonlinear network (CNN) project related to image processing for robotic and immune response inspired applications. He is currently an Associate Professor and the Vice Dean of innovation at the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics, PPCU. He was supervising more than 50 students, 17 of them continued their studies as a Ph.D. students. His publication statistics include more than 75 papers and seven patents. He was a coordinator of more than ten academic and research and development projects as well. Beside the academic activities he is the founder of three spin-off companies. His research interests include computational aspects of multi-core processing arrays, but also relates to sensory robotics, parallel computing, machine learning, and neuro-bio-inspired systems.
