Bio
During all his career, the scientific interests of Guido Martinelli have been focused on elementary particle physics and phenomenology, in particular on strong interactions in the perturbative and non perturbative regimes, on weak interactions, on matter-antimatter asymmetry and on the physics of the Standard Model (SM) and its extensions (Supersymmetry and Extra Dimensions). Alongside with these subjects he worked also in field theory, in particular on non-perturbative methods, effective theories, chiral Lagrangians and Statistical Mechanics.
Since about 2000, flavor physics has witnessed tremendous experimental progress, allowing us to reach an unprecedented accuracy in our knowledge of flavor and CP violation. Correspondingly he has dedicated most of his recent efforts to improve the precision of the theoretical predictions. The progresses made on the theoretical side allowed to test the SM and look for New Physics (NP) at a level competitive with the direct production of new particles at LHC.
