Bio
Jean-Claude Grivel was born in Gene-va/Switzerland in February, 1967. He received the diploma and the Ph.D. degrees in condensed matter physics from the University of Geneva in 1991 and 1996 respectively. After a post-doctoral stay at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and a two-year employment at Nordic Superconductor Technologies A/S in Brendby, Denmark, he joined the Rise National Laboratory (now part of the Technical University of Denmark) in Roskilde, Denmark in 2000. Since 2000, his principle research areas have been in ceramics processing, crystal growth and development of superconducting wires for power applications. He is an author or coauthor of 71 publications in refereed journals.
