个人简介
Gregory Demas is an American neuroendocrinologist who obtained his undergraduate degree from Millersville University in 1987, his M.S from Villanova University in 1993 and his Ph.D. in biopsychology from the Johns Hopkins University in 1998. At Hopkins he worked with neuroscientist Randy Nelson on the environmental and physiological factors regulating seasonal change in immune function. During his NIH post-doctoral fellowship with Timothy Bartness at Georgia State University (1998-2001), he studied sympathetic nervous system innervation of white adipose tissues. Dr. Demas is now Professor and former Chair of the Department of Biology, Indiana University Bloomington, where his diverse research group studies the neuroendocrine, neuroimmune, and microbial mechanisms regulating behavior. Current work combines biochemical, neuroendocrine, molecular, and ecological approaches to the study of social behavior. Dr. Demas received the Frank A. Beach Award in behavioral neuroendocrinology and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the Animal Behavior Society.
