G. Maxwell

Graeme Maxwell received the Ph.D. degree in flame hydrolysis deposition from Glasgow University, Glasgow, U.K., in 1990. He is currently the Head of the Specialty Products & Services Center, responsible for the fabrication facilities within Tyndall National Institute, Cork, U.K., as well as the Electronics Packaging Group, the Reliability Services and Failure Analysis teams. He has a background covering public sector research at BT Research Labs in U.K. and in industrial research with Corning. He was a Founding Member of CIP Technologies—a SME specializing in selling R&D and pilot manufacture services in U.K. He was instrumental in the sale of this company to Huawei in 2011 and in the transition of the facility from R&D to manufacture. He is coauthor of more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and holds 15 patents. He has significant expertise in hybrid optoelectronic integration, photonic component design, and optoelectronic test. He has supervised a number of M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, written, coordinated and participated in several EU funded projects.
