个人简介
Giuseppe Barbieri was born in Crotone on 17/12/1972 He was graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Calabria University in 1997 and he has got Ph.D. in Engineering of Machines at the Bari Polytechnic since 2002
Since 1999 he is researcher at ENEA in the Materials Technologies department, except for a brief period from 2002 to 2003 where he worked in the field of decommissioning and nuclear waste treatment in Plutonium Plant at the ENEA CR Casaccia.
In 2005 he graduated and currently certified like EWE (European Welding Engineer). Actually I’m the reference person for ENEA about welding processes, in particular laser welding and Electron Beam welding technologies.
Since 2009, I’m delegate ENEA as member of RINA Safeguarding of Impartiality Committee and I’m observer of the Technical Committees of the Industrial Products and Certification of Personnel.
In recent years I’ve been responsible for the activities concerned the development of industrial welding processes in compliance with the main welding standard (UNI EN ISO, ASTM, RINA), both by arc welding processes and by high energy density technologies (laser and electron beam). I’ have been the coordinator about welding development of the following project: PALES (Lightweight Structural Sandwich), SINAVE (INNOVATIVE INTERMODAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM BASED ON THE USE OF FAST FERRIES), ALAS (HYDROFOIL SURROUNDED WING) and ENVIROALISWATH (New hybrid ship propulsion system with low environmental impact and reduced wake wash), MATTER ( Materials Testing & Rules 7FP), WELLMET ( JNMP) and Realtete GEMMA ( H2020 Project) etc..
I was the project manager of the ENEA and the Ministry of Economic Development framework agreement’s Project 3.5 about the development of new materials and equipment for energy saving in the field of transport.
I’m author of several publications about laser and electron beam technologies applications with particular regard to aluminum alloys, magnesium, titanium and super alloys and has got several patents related to laser welding.
I’m member of the work group 6 about “Road, railway and maritime transport” of the Italian Association for Industrial Research (AIRI)
Actually he is the head of the Laboratory of Chemical and physical technologies of the Sustainable Materials Division at ENEA (Italian National Agency for New technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development). Since 1999 he is a researcher in the field of new materials and technologies and has managed projects related to innovative lightweight structures in the field of transportation. His main research activities are related to design and development of new structural architecture for lightweight components for fast ferries, freight coaches of high speed trains and automotives. He was leader of "lightweight" task of the project ITALY 2020 linked to the activities of “Cluster Trasporti Italia”. Since 2013 he is president of CALEF consortium, which is participated by primary Companies from transportation industry (e.g.. FCA Automobiles; FIAT Research Center, Alenia Aermacchi). One main target of the CALEF consortium is indeed the development of materials and enabling technologies for transportation.
