Giuseppe ARFELLI was born in Forlì (FC) on March, 22th , 1958.
In 1981/82 academic year he obtained the Bachelor Degree with honours in Agriculture Science at the University of Bologna (mark 110/110 with honours).
In july 1983 he was the winner for a national fellowship in the oenological field financed by E.S.A.V.E. (Regional Institution for Oenological and Viticultural studies) and from September, 1st , 1983 to December 31th , 1985 he worked in this Institution.
In november 1985 he won a national fellowship to attend the PhD in “Food Biotechnology”.
In 1986/87 academic year he won the "Dott. Gianmario Pallotta della Torre del Parco" award for the scientific contibution to improve the agricultural field.
In june 1989 he discussed the PhD thesys on "Study of the colloidal substances of musts and wines. The determination of phenolic compounds by HPLC in wines obtained with different grape varieties in function of winemaking technologies”.
From January, 1st, 1989 to October, 31th, 1990 he worked, as a skilled consultant, in the characterization and optimization of the productive processes of rectified must concentrate at the “ Industrie Agrarie” Institute of the University of Palermo.
From November 7th, 1990 to November, 30th, he worked as a researcher at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Bologna.
From April 2nd, 1993 he is member of the Italian Academy of Vine and Wine.
In September, 15th, 1993 he won the Perdisa Award for "... the deep scientific study on the different technologies in manifacturing fruit and vegetables".
In 1994/95 academic year he was lecturer teaching "Food Additives and Contaminants" at the University of Ancona.
In 1995/96 academic year he was lecturer teaching "Food Packaging technologies" and "Saniting and cleaning in Food Industry" at the University of Ancona.
In 1996/97, 1997/98 and 1998/99 academic year he was lecturer teaching " Food Packaging technologies " at the University of Bologna.
In 1999/2000, 2000/2001, 2001/2002, 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2005/2006 and 2006/2007 academic years he was lecturer teaching "Packaging technologies and distribution of foods" at the University of Bologna.
In the 2001/2002, 2002/2003, 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 academic years he was lecturer teaching "Packaging and distribution of oenological products" at the University of Bologna.
In the 2003/2004 academic year he was lecturer teaching "Oenological chemistry" at the University of Bologna.
From 2003/04 academic year until to 31/10/2007 he was the coordinator, for the University of Bologna, of the International Master VINTAGE (Vine, Wine and Terroir Management).
From December 1st, 2006 he worked as a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Teramo.
Since 2006/07 academic year to nowadays he was lecturer teaching "Enology I" and "Enology II" at the University of Teramo.
He was relator in several national and international symposium and meetings, concerning oenology and food science.
As an academic teacher, he presented over than 150 bachelor degree-thesys of the students of the University of Bologna, Teramo and of the University of Angers (France).
As a researcher, he was author of over than 100 papers in the field of food technologies.
