Bio
Giovanni Spagnoli was born in Foggia, Italy, in 1981. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in geological sciences and geotechnologies from the University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan, Italy, in 2004 and 2006, respectively and the Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Georesources and Materials Engineering, RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany, in 2011.
He previously worked in the field of soil mechanics/foundation engineering for Trevi, University of Bremen, and Fugro before joining BAUER Maschinen GmbH, Schrobenhausen, Germany, as a Product Manager for the maritime technologies. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, University of College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland. His research areas are fine-grained soils behavior, novel offshore piled foundations, and geophysical and mechanical properties of SMS deposits.
Dr. Spagnoli is a member of the Technical Committee TC209 (offshore geotechnics) and the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).
