Bio
Dr. Naser is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at the Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. He was a faculty memeber in the School of Engineering at the University of British Columbia (Canada) before joining the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Naser graduated from the University of Toronto (Canada) with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in the area of Water Resources Engineering. His Ph.D. research was focused on developing two-dimensional and multi – component water quality computer models to study hydraulics and water quality in drinking water distribution system.
After earning his Ph.D., Dr. Naser spent about two years as a postdoctoral fellow in affiliation with the University of Toronto. During this time, he expanded his research area into Energy Efficient Systems and Sustainable Design through his collaboration with the Division of Environmental Engineering and Energy Systems.
For his Master thesis, Dr. Naser investigated sediment transport mechanisms in open channels and rivers. Using Strip Integral Method, he created a novel and computationally–efficient two–dimensional model to study sedimentation process.
Dr. Naser is an expert in the area of Environmental Fluid Mechanics with more than 20 years of direct engineering, research, and consulting experience. He obtained his B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering with major focus on Water Resources Engineering area. He has received several awards for his teaching and scholarly activities. In addition to three book–chapters, he has published 82 research articles in journals and conference proceedings. He has also created a unique software for comprehensive unsteady–state analysis of flow and water quality degradation in water supply and distribution systems.
Dr. Naser is a professional civil engineer licensed in the province of British Columbia (Canada).
