Bio
Germán Álvarez-Botero is Ph.D. in Electronics with experience in scientific research and development projects in engineering. Besides his research experience, his academic background includes teaching undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students, supervising labs and coordinating teaching assistants, and incorporating his research in his lectures by providing additional materials from his publications in scientific journals and conferences.
His technical skills include the fabrication of microwave components by advanced manufacturing; Design of wireless communication systems; Development of behavioral models; Model implementations from experimental data; Parameter extraction; Model calibration (experiment-simulation correlation); Instrumentation and measurement techniques; Development of test plans and prototypes for experimental validation; Calibration techniques; High-frequency measurements; Design and fabrication of specialized sensors; MEMS design; CMOS and Bi-CMOS technologies process; Signal integrity; Applications using fiber optic sensors; Electrical, magnetic and optical characterization of materials; Optoelectronics; Microelectronics.
