Dr. Shimizu's research interests include novel porous solids specifically metal organic frameworks (MOFs) as storage vessels, separators, and sensing agents for guests, particularly gaseous molecules such as hydrogen, methane, and carbon dioxide. A second theme concerns new proton conductors based on MOFs and performance above 100˚C.
