Bio
Dr. Grossberg’s numerous current research interests include investigating the neurochemistry, risk factors, role of visual impairment, and hospice care of people with Alzheimer’s disease. He has also studied the effect of chemotherapy on the brain of elderly patients, Parkinson’s disease and associated dementia in the nursing home setting, atypical antipsychotics in long-term care, and recurrent head trauma and cognitive impairment in later life.
Dr. Grossberg is an active member of several organizations, advisory boards, and local chapters, including the International Psychogeriatric Association and the Advisory Committee on Geriatrics and Gerontology Education in the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is currently a medical consultant for the United States Justice Department in the Civil Rights Division, advocating for quality care in nursing homes.
Among Dr. Grossberg’s prolific publications, he has recently authored Psychiatric Consultation in Long-Term Care: A Guide for Healthcare Professionals (2nd edition) and is an editor for Delirium in Elderly Patients. He also currently has 2 major publications in press, Essentials of Clinical Geriatric Psychiatry and Practical Clinical Psychopharmacology for Neurologists.
In recognition for his dedication to his patients, Dr. Grossberg has been recognized as one of the “Best Doctors in America” since 1992 and is listed in the 2018 edition of “World Top Doctors.”
