个人简介
He has authored or coauthored more than 50 technical papers and is a co-holder of six patents. In 1998, he coauthored with Dr. Charles Kenney an invited paper at the American Control Conference in Philadelphia, PA, USA, which summarized their joint research on the Lyapunov and Riccati equations. His current research interests as Co-Leader of the Autonomy team include multivehicle optimal control for both trajectory planning and for reactive collision avoidance as well as reinforcement learning.,Dr. Hewer was the recipient of the Naval Weapons Center's Technical Director Award for his work in control theory in 1987. He gave an invited paper at a 1989 workshop on the Riccati equation in Como, Italy, funded by the Italian government to honor Count Jacopo Riccati on his quarter-of-a-millennium birthday. In 1998, he was the recipient of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Award for his contributions as a Navy research scientist. He co-chaired with Professor Margaret Cheney the 2008 Imaging Science Conference at the SIAM Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA, USA. From 2016 to 2017, he was a Co-Organizer with Professor Stan Osher, UCLA Mathematics Department, in formulating a proposed Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) Program with the title: “Overcoming the Curse of Dimensionality.” The emphasis of the program was control theory, differential games, and related applications. He is a NAVAIR Fellow.
