Bio
Gregory S. Cunningham was born in Detroit, MI, USA, in 1964. He received the B.S.E., M.S.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 1986, 1988, and 1992, respectively.
From 1992 to 1998, he was a Technical Staff Member with the Dynamic Experiments Division, Image Analysis Team, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Los Alamos, NM, USA. From 1998 to 2004, he was Team Leader for Image Analysis and Project Leader for Advanced Radiography. In 2004, he joined the Space Science and Applications Group, LANL, where he served as the Chief Scientist for the High-Altitude and Space Monitoring Project until 2010. Since 2010, he has been developing and using simulation codes for natural and artificial radiation belts of electrons trapped in the magnetic field surrounding earth.
Dr. Cunningham was a DeVlieg Fellow and the Shell Foundation Signal Processing Fellow as a Graduate Student. He was a member of the large teams that received the Defense Programs Award of Excellence and the LANL Distinguished Performance Award.
