Dr. Geraldine Jacobson is a Senior Member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Geraldine Jacobson received her MD degree from the University of Utah College of Medicine in Salt Lake City. She completed an internship at the University of Utah Medical Center followed by a Radiation Oncology Residency at LDS Hospital, also in Salt Lake City. Dr. Jacobson serviced as Professor and Founding Chair in the Department of Radiation Oncology, West Virginia University, Morgantown. She is the current Chair of the Board of Directors for the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). Dr. Jacobson’s clinical interests include breast, gynecologic, lung, brain, and skin cancer as well as the palliation of oligometastatic disease. Her research focus has been to reduce and mitigate the toxicity of radiation treatment via multiple strategies, particularly for patients with breast and pelvic cancers. Her research interests also include identifying barriers to health equity and access, partnering with her patients to improve the treatment experience, and promoting global access to safe and effective radiation therapy.
