个人简介
Aikaterini Karampasi received her B.S. degree and her MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in National Technical University of Athens. Her diploma thesis concerned the development of a medical Decision Support System towards the identification of Autism biomarkers in functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) data. She has also employed Neural Networks (NN) for the recognition of the myocardium in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data during her internship and later in Corsmed as Biomedical Engineer. Further improvements led to publishing the results in a paper entitled as "Simulator-generated training datasets as an alternative to using patient data for machine learning: An example in myocardial segmentation with MRI", Christos G. Xanthis, Dimitrios Filos, Kostas Haris, Anthony H. Aletras, Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, Vol. 198, 2021, ISSN 0169-2607, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cmpb.2020.105817. She recently has utilized and parametrized NNs for style transfer of image characteristics from real MRI to artificial MRI images for an individualized model utilized for the extraction of the myocardium. She is currently a PhD student employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in concurrent ElectroEncephaloGram (EEG) and fMRI data of epileptic patients. She is also experienced with the Microsoft Azure platform, as well as the Amazon Web Services (AWS) required by the applications implemented to run with a GPU. Her research interests also involve the preprocessing and analysis of the brain networks that can be identified in fMRI data during which the patients perform language and motor tasks. She has also implemented a mobile application regarding the identification of minerals by their external characteristics, in collaboration with the University of Patras, Geology Department, which is available online at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.minerals.identifier.mins&hl=el&gl=US. Mrs Karampasi gained a full scholarship for the HelloAI RIS 2021 program, hosted by the European Commission, the EIT Health, the GE Healthcare, the Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm (KTH) among others.
