His main field of activity includes the development of models and codes for the simulations of ultrascaled semiconductor devices, with particular attention to carbon based devices (Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene Field Effect Transistors).
Dr. Fiori has participated to several networks of excellence founded by the European Community like SINANO and NANOSIL. He has also partecipated to the NANOTCAD project, developing codes for the simulation of three-dimensional devices based on Silicon and III-V compound, as well as to the European projects PULLNANO, and GRAND, in which he has been mainly involved in the evaluation of the performance of carbon nanotubes and graphene nanoribbon devices.
Gianluca Fiori serves as referee for the leading journals in the fields of semiconductor physics, and device electronics.
