Bio
Frederick Pearce was born in New York in 1950. He did his undergraduate work at St. Lawrence University and received the Ph.D. degree in physiology from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, in 1977.
While at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, he was the Chief of the Department of Resuscitative Medicine and focused on integrated physiological monitoring devices and closed loop control systems as applied to combat casualty care. He has a long history of investigating oxygen physiology and the effects of blood loss. He currently works in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology.
