Frank Thonfeld

I am postdoc at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). I was involved in several projects dealing with wetland characterization, mapping, and monitoring mainly in East Africa (e.g., SWOS Satellite-based Wetland Observation Service, DeMo Wetlands, GlobE Wetlands in East Africa). Forests are also of huge interest to me. I have been working on time series analysis of optical (and to some extend SAR) data for forest development monitoring and disturbance detection for a while.
