Bio
Francisco José Martínez Olmos has a degree in Physiotherapy (2007), Master's Degree in Physiotherapy in Physical Activity and Sport (2008), Osteopathic Manual Therapy (2011) and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in Physiotherapy (2020), PhD in Health, Disability, Dependency and Well-being (2021), obtained an Extraordinary Doctorate Award (2022) and has been awarded a Six-year period (six-year period of research activity) (2022).
Since 2008 he is a full-time professor in the Department of Physiotherapy at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University. His professional category is Contracted Professor Doctor. In addition, he has developed his healthcare work in the field of exercises with the population with renal and cardiovascular pathologies.
The publications focus on the effects of different types of exercise-based interventions in elderly populations or patients with renal or cardiovascular pathologies, and the factors that explain the different aspects of the physical condition of older people with these pathologies.
He has presented 38 communications and posters at national and international conferences and has also been a reviewer for 4 JCR indexed journals (2021-2022). He has participated in research projects financed by private institutions (Banco Santander-CEU-UCH) on physical exercise in the renal population (FUSPBS-PPC14 / 2014-2020) and also in international research projects (GoodRENal: 2020-1-ES01- KA204-083141 / 2020-2023). He is a member of the multidisciplinary group to promote exercise in kidney patients of the Spanish Society of Nephrology (GEMEFERSEN) (2018-present).
In short, his interest has focused in recent years on the field of physical exercise for populations with renal and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it has deepened the knowledge of the factors that determine the physical condition of the elderly, in order to design more effective programs and interventions to improve functionality, quality of life related to health and independence, both in healthy populations as well as with pathology.
