Frédéric Schmidt received the Ph.D. degree from the Laboratoire de Planétologie de Grenoble (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique-Université Joseph Fourier), Grenoble, France, in 2007. He spent two years at the European Space Astronomy Centre, European Space Agency (ESA), Madrid, Spain, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Since 2009, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Laboratoire Intéractions et Dynamique des Environnements de Surface, University Paris-Sud, Orsay, France, and is also with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique. He is a Co-investigator of the OMEGA imaging spectrometer onboard Mars Express (ESA). His research interests are in analysis of hyperspectral data, ices, and polar processes on planet Mars.
