Academic and Scientific Positions Associate Professor — 2020-current Head of DEAL - BioDynE – Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech – University of Liege Main lectures topics : Energy Systems and Renewable Energy, Building Physics and Special Techniques, Eco-Design, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Energy in Agriculture Main research topics : Digital Energy and Agriculture Lab researches aim to develop connected technologies for tomorrow agricultures respectful of the welfare, the environment and the climate. This research encompasses animal husbandry and crop production in energy constrained context. Research projects are organized around a common objective of digital twins development, numerical counterparts of the monitored objects using dynamic models based on biology, chemistry and physics. Developed digital twins are used to monitor and control processes using the technologies of the internet of things and dynamic operational models. Currently funded projects cover - Functional-structural plant models twinning using RGB-D cameras for the integration of Indoor Farming in the smart grid, - Energy self-sufficient connected gantry for the information on the ARSIA Cerise Portal of the animals behavior, phenotype and welfare at the pasture using RFID ear tags, RGB-D cameras and edge computing - Information system for automated plant chemical phenotyping for ideotype conception - Connected diffusers, network and cloud platform for semio-chemicals based biocontrol - Development of a framework for the modelling and operation of agrivoltaics systems Research Director— 2018-2019 Senior scientist – PEPS –UMR ITAP – IRSTEA / Scientific deputy director for agriculture at Ecotech Department- IRSTEA – France Main research topics : PEPS research aims at improving crop protection technologies while reducing environmental and health impact.
