个人简介
Frédéric Gibou received the DEA degree in applied mathematics from the University of Bordeaux, France, in 1994, and the master's degree in applied mathematics, and the PhD degree in applied mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He was awarded a US National Science Foundation (NSF) postdoctoral fellowship to pursue his research at Stanford University from 2001 to 2004 in the Department of Computer Science and in the Department of Mathematics. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of California at Santa Barbara. He received the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship in Mathematics in 2006. His research interests include level set methods for computing moving fronts involving topological changes and the development of new methods for approximating nonlinear partial differential equations.
