个人简介
During my doctoral studies (September 2012 – October 2016) and my postdoctoral research (October 2016 – present) at the Cancer Biophysics Laboratory (CBL) of the University of Cyprus, I have been working on a mixture of mathematical modeling and experiments projects with the aim to develop new strategies to modulate the tumor micro-environment (TME) in order to alleviate solid stresses and thus, improve tumor perfusion, drug delivery and cancer therapy. My research work was initially funded by the European Research Council (ERC-2013-StG-336839 ReEngineeringCancer, PI: Dr. Stylianopoulos T.) with the aim to improve the efficacy of chemotherapy and nanomedicine to breast and pancreatic tumors. The last two years, I have secured my own funding and I am focusing on the remodeling of the TME in order to improve the efficacy of immunotherapy. For this work, I was first supported by a postdoctoral fellowship by the University of Cyprus (2019) and subsequently by a postdoctoral fellowship by the Research and Innovation Foundation (DIDAKTOR -POST-DOC/0718/0084- 12/2019-11/2021). My work has thus far produced 24 articles in peer-reviewed journals (and 4 under review), including 4 articles in PNAS as well as articles in ACS Nano, Small, Advanced Science, Cancer Research, J. Controlled Release, Theranostics and Oncotarget. (h-index=14, >1200 citations).
