Filippo Tempia had the M.D. degree in 1986 and the Ph.D. degree in 1990 from the University of Turin (Italy). From 1990 to 1998, Tempia worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Turin. Moreover, from 1992 to 1993, Dr. Tempia was on sabbatical leave at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Gottingen (Germany) and then, from 1998 to 2004, worked as an Associate Professor of human physiology at the University of Perugia. Since 2005, Dr. Tempia works as a Full Professor of physiology (tenured since 2008) at the Department of Neuroscience and at the School of Medicine of the University of Turin and, since 2006, is a Member of the National Institute of Neuroscience (INN). Since 2010, Tempia is a Group Leader at the Neuroscience Institute Cavalieri Ottolenghi (NICO). In 2012 he spent two months and in 2013/14 one full year as Visiting Scientist at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (USA).
