He is author or coauthor of more than 90 research papers published in international journals and conferences/workshops. At the time of writing (17/03/2015), the H-index reported by Google Scholar is 26; the number of citations 2859. Filippo Ricca was Program Chair of CSMR/WCRE 2014, CSMR 2013, ICPC 2011, WSE 2008. Among the others, he served in the program committees of the following conferences: ICSM, ICST, SCAM, CSMR, WCRE, ICWE and ESEM. He regularly reviews papers for journals such as TSE, IST, EMSE and JSME. He complies with the required minimal criteria for the Italian professorship qualification (both full and associate professor).
His current research interests include Reverse engineering, Empirical studies in Software Engineering, Web applications and Software Testing. The research is mainly conducted through empirical methods such as case studies, controlled experiments and surveys.
