个人简介
I have begun my mathematical studies at the University of Milano. There, in 2008, I got my degree for the bachelor with a thesis on knot theory about Seifert surfaces and invariants useful for classifications of knots and links, and then, in 2010, my master degree with a thesis in algebraic geometry under the guidance of Prof. Van Geemen and Prof. Bini. The argument of the thesis, a study of a particular family of Calabi-Yau threefolds with interesting geometric properties (namely, small Hodge numbers), was also the starting point for my PhD, which I began in 2010 at the University of Pavia not much after the end of the master.
During my PhD, I worked with my advisor (Prof. Bini) and my tutor (Prof. Pirola) on geography problems related to the classification of CY3 and quotients of such varieties by finite groups and to constructions related to this technique. The aim was mainly the construction of new families of CY with small Hodge numbers, new surfaces of general types with particular invariants and finding explicit mirrors for some CY3.
After the PhD, I’ve won two one-year positions (in 2013 and in 2014) as collaborator for research activities at “CIRM - Fondazione Bruno Kessler” (Centro Internazionale per la Ricerca Matematica, International Center for Mathematical Research) under the supervision of Prof. Pignatelli of the University of Trento. In 2015 I’ve won a two-years Post-doc position at the University of Trento with supervisor Prof. Fontanari. During these four years in Trento, I’ve worked on surfaces of general types with peculiar invariants and problems related to the Clemens conjecture for Calabi-Yau threefolds, Prym maps and spaces of coverings of curves (in collaboration with S. Torelli), construction of CY3s and study of pluricanonical maps for product quotients varieties (in collaboration with Prof. Pignatelli and C. Gleissner).
During winter 2016 I was a guest of Prof. Naranjo of the University of Barcellona. There I’ve worked on topics related to the Xiao’s conjecture on relative irregularity in collaboration with him and Prof. Pirola.
From January 2018 to September 2021 I was a post-doc at the University of Milano-Bicocca under the supervision of Prof. Sonia Brivio. We worked on semistable bundles on curves moduli spaces and problems related. We studied desingularizations of Theta divisors for curves of genus 2. Then we concentrated on seeing what happens when the curve became singular, allowing nodal singularities and assuming reducibility. We have studied problems and generalize results which were well known for smooth curves in the ambient od nodal curves (Butler's conjecture, results moduli space of coherent systems, Brill-Noether theory...).
Since October 2021 I am a Researcher (RTD/A) in Algebraic Geometry at the University of Pavia. At the moment I'm working on problems related to the Lefschetz property on Artinian Algebra arising from geometry (for example, Jacobian Rings of smooth hypersurfaces) and results analogous to Gordan-Noether Theorem. I am also studying the geometry of the hessian variety of cubic hypersurfaces.
I enjoy teaching and, starting from the beginning of my Ph.D., I taught in various courses in Pavia (both for Engineering - bachelor - and Mathematics - bachelor), Trento (bachelor, master and abilitation courses for new teachers of high schools), Milano-Bicocca (bachelor), Milano (appointed professor for a course in Basic Mathematics for the bachelor degree in Medical Biotechnologies) and Insubria (appointed professor for a course in Curves and Surfaces for the bachelor degree in Mathematics). I taught a Ph.D. course "Introduction to moduli spaces of vector bundles on curves" for the joint Ph.D. programme in Mathematics of INdAM, University of Pavia and of Milano-Bicocca in 2021. Currently, I'm teaching courses in Algebra and Geometry for bachelor and master degree in Mathematics in Pavia.
In May 2021 I was granted the Italian “Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale” (Settore Concorsuale:01/A2, Fascia: 2).
I’ve also interest in the popularization of mathematics: I founded, together with some colleagues with the same passion as myself, a cooperative company named Curvilinea (www.curvilinea.org), which aims to spread Mathematics to people and students. We design and prepare exhibitions about various mathematical topics which we bring in scientific festivals and directly in schools as well as conferences and laboratories. Curvilinea has also been selected as one of the winners in a national level contest (Bando Culturability) held by the Unipolis Foundation.
I am a member of the INdAM (National Institute of High Mathematics) group GNSAGA since 2008.
I'm a member of UMI (Unione Matematica Italiana) and of the editorial committee of "Notiziario dell'UMI".
I am one of the organisers of the events of the European research night for the Math department in Pavia and as well a member of "Commissione paritetica".
