Dr. Filipa A. Vicente obtained her BSc, MSc and doctoral degrees in Biochemistry (2012), Clinical Biochemistry (2014) and Chemical Engineering (2019), respectively, at the University of Aveiro. She has considerable experience with the development, characterization and implementation of integrated and more sustainable platforms for the isolation and purification of a wide range of biomolecules from several types of biomass. In fact, she performed her MSc thesis at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and spent 3 months of her PhD at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia to deepen her knowledge on how to improve these platforms. Filipa has been a Research Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Chemistry, Slovenia, since 2019. She is a group leader at the Department of Catalysis and Chemical Reaction Engineering and accounts with the publication of 27 articles in international peer reviewed journals, being the 1st author in 14 articles (2 were the front cover of Green Chem.: DOI:10.1039/c9gc00104b and DOI:10.1039/c9gc04362d), and is the corresponding author in 10 articles; she is also the 1st & corresponding author of a book chapter (h-index: 15; >665 citations; Google Scholar). She got approved a project under the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus from the Portuguese Foundation of Science and Technology (8 grants approved out of 78) as the principal investigator. Additionally, she has been a team member/PI in 4 Portuguese, 5 Slovenian, 1 Brazilian and 2 Horizon (ESTELLA, in which she is the Slovenian coordinator; and PROPLANET) Projects. Filipa is co-guest editor in 2 special issues and is on the Reviewer board of 2 journals. She has supervised >25 practice students, 3 BSc and 6 MSc (two on-going) students. Currently, she is supervising 3 PosDocs.
