Neurodegenerative disorders have a complex etiology, with a large number of genetic and environmental factors influencing disease risk. I am interested in decoding the underlying genetic and epigenetic mechanisms by integrating bioinformatics, genomics, synthetic and molecular biology in a translational setting. Currently, I am working on a molecular approach to elucidate the cell type-specific effects of non-coding genomic elements in these devastating diseases.
