I am interested in understanding how biodiversity originated and evolved. My research focuses on three interrelated and overlapping topics: I) the discovery and description of biodiversity, II) the reconstruction of the evolutionary history of genes, species and clades, and C) the evaluation of ecological and evolutionary assumptions, and study what factors allow and promote genetic, species and phenotypic diversity.
