Bio
Prof. Felipe Pinheiro holds a degree in Physics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1998), a Master's degree in Physics from the Brazilian Center for Physical Research (2000) and a Ph.D. in Physics from Joseph Fourier University - Grenoble I / France (2003). He did postdoctoral studies at the Brazilian Center for Physical Research (2004) and at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2005-2006). Visiting researcher at the Optoelectronics Research Center / University of Southampton (2014-2015). Winner of the Young Scientist Prize TWAS-ROLAC, Physics, 2014. In 2015 he received the "Newton Advanced Fellowship Award" from the Royal Society (UK) to undertake collaborative research with the Optoelectronics Research Center / University of Southampton. He acts as a reviewer of more than 30 indexed international scientific journals. He is currently Associate Professor of Physics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has experience in Physics, with emphasis in Optics and Physics of Condensed Matter, working mainly on the following subjects: propagation and scattering of waves in complex media and metamaterials, random lasers, Anderson localization, and electronic transport in mesoscopic and molecular systems.
